1. Who looks after your information

Your information is handled by Refugio Barber Studio LLC, which operates as Refugio Barber Studio in Marietta, Georgia, United States.

If you want to know what we hold about you, correct it or ask us to delete it, write to us at refugiobarberstudio@gmail.com.

2. What information we collect

We only ask for what we need to serve you:

If you send us information we do not need, we delete it.

3. What we use it for

We use your information to serve you and for nothing else: to give you an appointment, let you know if something changes, charge you and keep the business accounts, and answer your questions or complaints.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not exchange it with anyone for advertising.

To work, we use tools from other companies. Each one receives only what it needs to do its part:

Square Appointments, for bookings and card payments. It receives your name, your contact details, the service, the date and the details of the card you leave as a guarantee.
WhatsApp, when you message us there. It receives your phone number and is the channel your messages go through.
The provider that hosts this website. It receives the technical data of your visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the pages you open.
Google Fonts, which provides the website’s typefaces. It receives your IP address and your browser data.
Google Maps, for the map on the services page. It receives your IP address and your browser data, and may store its own cookies.
Google Analytics and Google Ads, to know how many people visit the website, which pages they open and whether our ads work. They receive your IP address, your browser data and what you do on the website, and they store their own cookies.

Our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube) are only linked: they receive nothing until you click.

There is something hardly anyone explains and it is worth knowing: it is enough for a page to load something from another company, such as a map or a video, for your connection to reach that company, even if you do not click anything. That is why we declare it.

We also share information if an authority asks us to and we are legally required to.

Your information may leave your country

The companies on the list are based in the United States and may store or process your information in the United States or in other countries where they have servers. Each one protects it under its own privacy policy.

Cookies

A cookie is a very small file that a website saves on your device when you visit it. It works like a sticky note: it helps remember something from one visit to the next.

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies to measure visits to the website and the results of our ads. Those cookies belong to Google and are governed by its privacy policy. The Google map on the services page may also store its own cookies. We do not use this information to identify you.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, in the privacy section. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Our website will keep working the same.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while you are a client and for three years after the last time we served you. After that, we delete it.

Invoices and receipts are kept longer, because we need to keep the business accounts. And if you gave us information about your health, it has its own retention period, which we explain below.

6. How we look after it

We keep your information in password-protected accounts and only the person serving you can access it. We do not leave client records in sight or share them by chat.

No system is perfect. If anyone ever accessed your information without permission, we would let you know as soon as possible, tell you what happened and what you can do.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong, or to delete your information. Write to us at refugiobarberstudio@gmail.com and we reply within 30 days.

Some information cannot be deleted immediately because we need it for the business accounts. If that is your case, we explain it to you and tell you when we can delete it.

8. Minors

To book with us on your own you must be 18 or older.

When we serve a minor, as with a kids’ haircut, we always do so with the permission of their mother, their father or whoever is in charge of them, and it is that adult who gives us their information and who can ask us to see it or delete it.

9. Information about your health

Information about your health, such as allergies or skin conditions you tell us about before a facial service, is handled with more care than the rest. We keep it separately, only the person serving you sees it, and we use it only to provide the service safely.

We keep it for five years from the last time we served you and then destroy it. You can see the details in the consent form you sign before the service.

10. Changes

If we change anything in this policy, we will publish the new version on www.refugiobarberstudio.com with a new date. If we install a new tool, we update the list in section 4.
